Here's a quick-n-dirty rebuild of the little Y-Wing from the Rebel Base kit. Not definitive by any means, but definitely proof that you can "polish a turd". |

Top view shows the changes. Add strip around the edge of the head module and a bit to square off the back of the cockpit windows. Cut off the flared engine ends. Use more rod for the proper engine rear section, then use the flared end bit to cap the engine at the back. All that's left is some putty to smooth things out. |

Front view shows how to do the head changes. Cut or sand square beam at a 45 degree angle to match the contour of the kit head. | ||||||
| I whipped this up in about an hour with no planning, eyeballing the measurements and spare material on hand. A more focused effort could yield even more accurate results. | |||||||
