Let's start at the beginning
- the box.
The box measures 16"
x16" x4". Chris White's incredible painting serves as
the entier cover with the "Enterprise" logo across the
top and the Polar Lights logo in the bottom left corner. At Wonderfest
2003, Chris gave out signed 1/4 sized prints of the NX-01 artwork.
In that print, his signature is on the lower right corner - where
the PL logo is now. Smartly, PL moved his signature to the left
corner, rather than just pasting their logo over it.

| Now
a look at the instructions. (You do read instructions, don't you?)
You're going to NEED them for this kit. Many of the windows are multiples
of the same part numbers. Thankfully, Polar also went with a multi-step
instruction sheet rather than their usual all-consuming exploded view.
The opposite side of the sheet features four greyscale views of the
ship, a paint color list, a sample of the "aztec" pattern,
and the callouts for the MANY decals. |

An erratta sheet is also
included, as some steps had some part numbers mistakes. I'd imagine
the main sheet will be corrected in the next run, but it was good
that they caught this ahead of time rather than after the kits were
released.
The decal sheet is jam
packed with every possible marking and stripe on the ship, taking
up an entire 8x10 sheet.
